What Is txAdmin?

txAdmin is the official, built-in web panel for managing your FiveM server. It comes pre-installed with every FiveM server artifact and gives you full control over your server without needing SSH or terminal access. From txAdmin you can:
  • Start, stop & restart your server with one click
  • Manage and restart individual resources
  • Monitor live console output in real time
  • Ban, kick & warn players from a web interface
  • Schedule automatic restarts & announcements
  • Set up admin roles & permission levels
  • Deploy a brand new server using guided recipes
  • Monitor server performance & player count

If your framework is the engine that powers your server, txAdmin is the dashboard you use to drive it. Every FiveM server owner — beginner or veteran — should know how to use it.

Prerequisites

RequirementDetails
FiveM serverAny artifact build — txAdmin is included automatically
A web browserChrome, Firefox, or Edge — txAdmin runs entirely in the browser
Server IP & portYour server's IP and txAdmin port (default: 40120)
Admin credentialsSet during first-time setup or provided by your host
Port accessPort 40120 must be open/accessible (most hosts handle this)

Step 1: Access Your txAdmin Panel

txAdmin runs on port 40120 by default. To access it, open your browser and go to:

http://your-server-ip:40120
If you're running locally:
http://localhost:40120
If you're using a hosting provider (ZAP-Hosting, TXAP, etc.):

Most hosts include a direct txAdmin button in your control panel — look for it on your server's dashboard page. You won't need to type the IP manually.

Pro tip: Bookmark your txAdmin URL the moment your server is set up. You'll be visiting it every single day.

Step 2: Complete the Setup Wizard

The first time you open txAdmin, you'll be greeted by the Setup Wizard. This is a one-time process that configures your server.

You'll be asked to:
  1. Create a master account — set your username and password
  2. Choose a deployment type:
Fresh Server → Brand new, empty server
Recipe → Automated install (ESX, QBCore, etc.)
Existing Data → Point txAdmin to an existing server-data folder
  1. Set your server name — this shows in the txAdmin header and server list
  2. Configure your server data path — where your server-data/ folder lives
If you're starting fresh, use a Recipe:
  • Click Popular Recipes
  • Choose ESX Legacy or QBCore Framework
  • txAdmin will automatically download and configure a full base server for you
Pro tip: The Recipe installer is the fastest way to get a working ESX or QBCore server running — it handles framework files, database setup, and server.cfg automatically.

Step 3: Navigate the txAdmin Dashboard

Once setup is complete, you'll land on the main dashboard. Here's what each section does:

Dashboard → Server status, player count, performance overview
Live Console → Real-time server output and command input
Resources → List of all resources with start/stop/restart controls
Players → All connected players with ban/kick/warn options
Whitelist → Manage player whitelist applications
Bans → Full ban list with search and revoke options
Scheduler → Set up automatic restarts and announcements
Settings → Server config, admin accounts, game settings

The status bar at the top shows your server's current state:

  • 🟢 Online — server is running normally
  • 🟡 Starting — server is booting up
  • 🔴 Offline — server is stopped or crashed

Step 4: Manage Resources

The Resources tab is where you'll spend most of your time as a server owner. It lists every resource in your server.cfg with its current status.

From the Resources tab you can:
  • ✅ Start a resource that isn't running
  • 🔄 Restart a resource after editing its config
  • ⛔ Stop a resource without restarting the whole server

To restart a script after making config changes:

  1. Go to Resources
  2. Search for your script name in the search bar
  3. Click the Restart button next to it

This is far faster than restarting your entire server every time you tweak a config file.

Pro tip: If a resource shows a red error badge, click it to jump directly to that error in the Live Console. This saves a huge amount of debugging time.

Step 5: Use the Live Console

The Live Console is one of txAdmin's most powerful features. It shows you everything happening on your server in real time — errors, resource logs, player connections, and more.

To run a server command, type it in the input bar at the bottom:
restart es_extended
ensure [scripts]/my-custom-script
status
say Hello everyone, server restart in 5 minutes!
Reading console output:
[ script:es_extended ] ESX Loaded! ← resource started OK
[ script:my-script ] Error: nil value ← something is broken
[ server ] Player "John" connected ← player joined

Lines in red are errors — these are what you want to fix. Lines in white or green are normal output.

Pro tip: Use Ctrl + F inside the Live Console to search for specific resource names or error messages — this is much faster than scrolling manually.

Step 6: Manage Players & Bans

The Players tab shows every player currently connected to your server, along with their identifiers, ping, and connection time.

From the Players tab you can:
  • Kick — remove a player from the server immediately
  • Warn — send an in-game warning message logged to their record
  • Ban — permanent or timed ban by hardware ID, license, or IP
  • View history — see a full log of previous warnings and bans
To ban a player:
  1. Click the player's name in the Players list
  2. Click Ban
  3. Choose a duration (permanent, 1 day, 7 days, 30 days, etc.)
  4. Enter a reason — this is logged and shown to the player
  5. Click Submit

The ban is applied immediately and logged in the Bans tab where you can search, view, or revoke it at any time.

Pro tip: Always enter a clear ban reason. If a player disputes a ban, you'll need this record — and your admin team will thank you.

Step 7: Set Up Scheduled Restarts

Servers that run 24/7 without restarts accumulate memory leaks and performance issues. Scheduled restarts keep things clean and healthy.

To set up a restart schedule:
  1. Go to Scheduler in the left menu
  2. Click Add Restart
  3. Set your restart times — most servers restart every 6–12 hours:
06:00 AM → Restart
12:00 PM → Restart
06:00 PM → Restart
12:00 AM → Restart
  1. Enable restart announcements — txAdmin will warn players 15 minutes, 5 minutes, and 1 minute before each restart
  2. Click Save
Pro tip: Schedule restarts during low-traffic hours whenever possible. Use your player stats in the dashboard to find your quietest time window.

Step 8: Add Admin Accounts

You shouldn't be the only person with txAdmin access on an active server. Add trusted staff members with the correct permission level.

To add an admin:
  1. Go to Settings → Admins
  2. Click Add Admin
  3. Enter their FiveM Forum username (they'll log in with their CFX account)
  4. Assign a permission level:
Master → Full access — only you should have this
Admin → Ban, kick, manage resources, console access
Moderator → Ban and kick only, no console or resource access
Viewer → Read-only, can see console and player list
  1. Click Save — they can now log in at your txAdmin URL with their CFX account
Pro tip: Never give Master access to anyone other than the server owner. If a trusted admin goes rogue, Master is the only account that can revoke their access.

Troubleshooting Common txAdmin Issues

❌ Can't access txAdmin on port 40120

Solution: Port 40120 may be blocked by a firewall. On a VPS, open the port via your provider's firewall settings. On a host panel, check if there's a direct txAdmin link instead.

❌ "Wrong password" on txAdmin login

Solution: If you've forgotten your master password, delete the txData/ folder and restart FXServer — this resets txAdmin and lets you run the setup wizard again. Warning: this clears txAdmin config, not your server data.

❌ Server shows as Offline in the dashboard but is running

Solution: txAdmin lost connection to the FXServer process. Check your FXServer path in Settings → FXServer and make sure it points to the correct FXServer.exe or run.sh.

❌ Resource shows as "Error" in the Resources tab

Solution: Click the error badge to jump to the console output for that resource. The error message will tell you exactly what's wrong — usually a missing dependency or a Lua syntax error.

❌ Scheduled restart not firing

Solution: Check that your system clock is set to the correct timezone. txAdmin uses the server machine's local time. Go to Settings → Master Account to verify the timezone configuration.

❌ Ban isn't working — banned player can reconnect

Solution: The ban was applied by license only. Go to Bans, find the entry, and edit it to include hardware ID (hwidToken) for a stronger ban that survives account changes.

❌ txAdmin recipe fails halfway through

Solution: Usually a GitHub rate limit or a slow internet connection. Wait 60 seconds and try again. If it fails repeatedly, use the Existing Data option and install the framework manually.
